Buffalo Pair Charged with Sex Trafficking

A chilling crime has shaken the streets of Buffalo, New York. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Kenneth White, 37, and Caitlin Connelly, 29, have been indicted for their alleged roles in a sex trafficking ring.

The indictment, unsealed on [date], charges White with nine counts, including conspiracy to commit sex trafficking, sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, and sex trafficking of a minor. Connelly has been charged with conspiring with White to engage in sex trafficking. If convicted, White faces a maximum penalty of life in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both.

Assistant U.S. Attorney John E. Rogowski revealed that the indictment alleges White and Connelly conspired to cause five victims to engage in commercial sex acts between 2004 and December 2012. The indictment claims that the pair knowingly and recklessly used force, threats of force, fraud, and coercion to control the victims.

White was also charged with transporting some of the victims out of New York State to engage in commercial sex acts. The indictment further alleges that White sex trafficked a minor victim.

Both Kenneth White and Caitlin Connelly will face arraignment on November 26. White’s detention hearing is scheduled for 3:15 p.m., while Connelly’s hearing is set for 2:00 p.m.

The investigation into the sex trafficking ring was conducted by Special Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the direction of Brian P. Boetig, and the Internal Revenue Service, Criminal Investigations Division, under the direction of Toni M. Weirauch.
