MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – Rance Dewayne Childs, 36, of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, has been hit with serious federal charges after being indicted by the June 2019 Federal Grand Jury.
The indictment accuses Childs of being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm. According to the allegations, on or about May 5, 2019, within the Eastern District of Oklahoma, Childs, who had been convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year, knowingly possessed a firearm that had been shipped and transported in interstate commerce. This violation of Title 18, United States Code, Sections 922(g)(1) and 924(a)(2), could see him facing up to 10 years imprisonment, a fine up to $250,000.00, or both.
The investigation was led by the Seminole Nation Lighthorse Police, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, and the Bureau of Indian Affairs. The charges were announced by Special Assistant United States Attorney Courtney Jordan.
This latest development in Muskogee brings the total number of individuals facing federal charges to seven, signaling a major crackdown on crime within the region.
