Tyrone Godley-Johnson, a 42-year-old Texas man, pleaded guilty to distributing cocaine and laundering money in Kansas City, Missouri. Between the summer of 2022 and September 4, 2024, Godley-Johnson transported approximately seven kilograms of cocaine to Kansas City, exchanging it for a total of $131,000. He was caught on September 5, 2024, when law enforcement discovered $35,000 hidden in his rental vehicle during a traffic stop in Moore, Oklahoma.
Godley-Johnson’s guilty plea includes one count of conspiracy to distribute cocaine and one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering. He faces up to 20 years in federal prison without parole. The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Homeland Security Investigations, the Jackson County Drug Task Force, the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department, and the Overland Park, Kansas Police Department.
The prosecution is being handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Brad K. Kavanaugh.
