Daniel LaRock, Child Pornography, New York 2025

SYRACUSE, NEW YORK – In a disturbing case of child exploitation, Daniel LaRock, a 21-year-old from Oswego, New York, has pleaded guilty to three counts of possession of child pornography. LaRock’s guilty plea hearing took place on June 2024 in Oswego County Court, where he was sentenced to 10 years’ probation.

However, it appears that LaRock’s behavior continued even after his initial conviction. Later that same month in June 2024, he possessed and distributed child pornography on multiple social media accounts, including videos depicting very young children engaged in sex acts with adults.

LaRock’s actions have led to severe consequences. At sentencing scheduled for August 26, 2025 before United States District Judge Anthony J. Brindisi, LaRock faces an imprisonment term of at least 10 and up to 20 years per count, a term of supervised release of between 5 years and life, forfeiture of the property used to commit the offenses, and an order of restitution to the victims.

LaRock will also be required to register as a sex offender upon release from prison. A defendant’s sentence is imposed by a judge based on the statute the defendant violated, the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines, and other factors.

This case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) with the assistance of the New York State Police. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Michael D. Gadarian as part of Project Safe Childhood.

Project Safe Childhood is a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. Led by the U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS), Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to better locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims. In light of LaRock’s guilty plea, it is clear that child exploitation is a serious issue that demands our attention and action. It is essential that law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, and the public work together to prevent and prosecute such crimes.
