A 26-year-old New Castle County man, Damion Thomas, is facing a long prison sentence after a federal jury convicted him of trafficking cocaine and fentanyl in the area.
According to court documents and evidence presented at trial, Thomas attempted to sell marijuana to an undercover police officer on July 2, 2024. This led officers to find pre-packaged cocaine, fentanyl, and marijuana inside Thomas’s car.
Further investigation led to a search of a bedroom at a residence associated with Thomas, where officers found more cocaine, marijuana, and drug packaging materials. A safe inside that bedroom contained over 180 grams of cocaine, almost 150 individual packages of fentanyl, a bulk supply of marijuana, and a loaded revolver.
Thomas was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to a 2018 conviction for attempted first-degree robbery.
U.S. Attorney Benjamin L. Wallace vowed to hold accountable those who flood communities with deadly drugs and arm themselves in the process.
