Tucson Man Convicted of Child Sexual Abuse
A federal jury in Tucson, Arizona, has found Eric David Marrufo, 43, guilty of five counts of Aggravated Sexual Abuse of a Child and one count of Abusive Sexual Contact with a Child.
The evidence presented at trial showed that Marrufo sexually abused the victims at his home in Tucson, on the Pascua Yaqui Indian Reservation, between August 1, 2006, and August 1, 2008.
Marrufo, a member of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe, faces a maximum penalty of life in prison, a $250,000 fine, or both, for each conviction.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Pascua Yaqui Police Department conducted the investigation in this case.
Assistant U.S. Attorneys Matthew C. Cassell and Rui Wang, District of Arizona, Tucson, handled the prosecution.
Marrufo is currently being held in custody pending sentencing, which is scheduled for October 24, 2022, before United States District Judge Cindy K. Jorgenson.
