ST. LOUIS – A grim chapter in the annals of cybersex crimes unfolded as Giovanni Falcon, a 41-year-old Mexican national, stood before U.S. District Court in St. Louis on Monday, admitting to sexually abusing a minor and engaging in explicit communications with her via Instagram.
Falcon’s heinous actions targeted a 15-year-old girl, with the exploitation occurring over a period of seven months between Jan. 1, 2024, and Aug. 12, 2024. During this time, Falcon sent lewd images to the victim, exploiting the social media platform for his twisted desires.
In an added layer of horror, Falcon and the victim engaged in sexual contact on multiple occasions. The shocking truth was unearthed when the girl’s father discovered the explicit messages on Aug. 13, 2024. Prompt action led to Falcon’s arrest by St. Ann Police Department the following day, with the defendant readily admitting his despicable behavior.
The justice system is now poised to mete out its sternest punishment for such a heinous crime. The U.S. Attorney’s office plans to seek 216 months in prison at Falcon’s sentencing, scheduled for Jan. 27, 2026. Furthermore, the court will ensure that Falcon, who is not legally present in the United States, faces deportation upon his release.
This case was meticulously investigated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations and the St. Ann Police Department, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Jillian Anderson spearheading the prosecution. The charges against Falcon were brought under Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
