A 33-year-old convicted felon from New Roads, Louisiana, is headed to federal prison for packing a heat. Frank Sneed was sentenced to 76 months for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.
It all went down on November 29, 2023, at a retail store in Baton Rouge. Sneed was caught with a Smith and Wesson M&P 45 pistol during a retail theft investigation by the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office.
Sneed had no involvement in the theft, but a pat-down revealed the gun. The detective asked him about it, and Sneed copped to having the pistol in his jacket.
The feds say Sneed knew he was a convicted felon and couldn’t possess a firearm. He’s got a rap sheet a mile long, including simple burglary, armed robbery, and simple escape.
