⏱ 3 min read

A Slidell man’s sick obsession with child sex abuse material has landed him nearly a decade behind bars. Jonathan Suarez, 30, was sentenced to 118 months in prison after pleading guilty to receiving and possessing CSAM.

According to court documents, Suarez sent money via CashApp to accounts known to be used for transmitting CSAM on at least six occasions between February 2023 and August 2023. When FBI agents executed a search warrant at his residence in April 2025, they seized his iPhone and uncovered a staggering 186 images and 853 videos depicting the sexual victimization of children.

The disturbing content, which included files saved in custom-made folders describing the content, showed some victims as young as two years old. Suarez will also be required to register as a sex offender and pay $42,000 in restitution to the victims.

U.S. Attorney David I. Courcelle announced the sentence, which includes eight years of supervised release after Suarez’s imprisonment and a $100 mandatory special assessment fee.
