Three individuals, Ales Mena, Andy Mena, and Yeriel Torres Rodriguez, were charged with fentanyl distribution in Boston, Massachusetts. The alleged crime occurred between October 2025 and April 2026, with the defendants allegedly distributing kilograms of fentanyl through various means, including UPS shipments and in-person sales. The investigation revealed ties to the Trinitarios and Gangster Disciples street gangs, as well as contacts in Mexico.
Ales Mena, also known as ‘Shubill,’ was identified as a high-level narcotics trafficker and was arrested along with his cousin, Andy Mena. Yeriel Torres Rodriguez was charged in a separate complaint with possession with intent to distribute controlled substances. The defendants made their initial appearance in federal court in Boston, with detention hearings scheduled for May 8, 2026.
The investigation began on October 27, 2025, when Ales Mena arrived at Boston Logan Airport from the Dominican Republic. Agents seized his cell phones, which allegedly contained conversations about narcotics trafficking and photographs of fentanyl. On October 31, 2025, a kilogram of fentanyl was seized via UPS, allegedly following text communication between Ales Mena and a contact in Mexico.
The defendants allegedly coordinated the sale of fentanyl on multiple occasions, including a sale of 25 grams and 100 grams to a confidential witness. On April 23, 2026, the defendants allegedly sold a kilogram of suspected fentanyl to a confidential witness at a car wash in Methuen.
