Donnie Dontez Jeffreys, a 35-year-old ringleader of a large-scale cocaine and fentanyl distribution operation, has been sentenced to 22 years in federal prison for his role in poisoning the streets of Eastern North Carolina with deadly narcotics. In February 2024, investigators identified Jeffreys as the mastermind behind the operation, which distributed massive quantities of cocaine, powder fentanyl, and pressed fentanyl pills throughout the region.
