Jeffrey Allen Jones, a 46-year-old Ohio man, pleaded guilty to federal drug and gun crimes in Huntington, West Virginia. Jones, also known as ‘Ben’, was busted on March 7, 2025, when law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at his Huntington residence, seizing approximately 44 grams of fentanyl, 23 grams of cocaine base, and a loaded Glock 23 .40-caliber pistol. The search was the result of an investigation into Jones’ alleged drug trafficking activities, which included selling fentanyl to a confidential informant on multiple occasions.
According to court documents, Jones admitted to selling fentanyl on four occasions between January 2, 2025, and March 5, 2025, in quantities of approximately 1 gram each time, in exchange for $80. He also admitted to possessing the seized controlled substances and intending to distribute them, and that he possessed the firearm to protect himself and the seized drugs.
On December 17, 2025, law enforcement officers executed another search warrant, this time at a Huntington motel room, where they arrested Jones and seized approximately 15 grams of crack and 5 grams of fentanyl in his possession. Jones is scheduled to be sentenced on July 13, 2026, and faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and cocaine base, and a consecutive term of at least five years and up to life in prison for possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
The investigation was led by the Huntington Violent Crime and Drug Task Force and the Huntington Police Department, with assistance from the US Attorney’s Office. United States District Judge Robert C. Chambers presided over the hearing, and Assistant United States Attorneys Stephanie Taylor and Courtney L. Finney are prosecuting the case.
