Methamphetamine Conspirator Sentenced to 169 Months in Prison

In a major blow to local crime, a Bristol, Tennessee man was sentenced to 169 months in federal prison for his role in a methamphetamine trafficking conspiracy that brought the deadly drug into Southwest, Virginia.

Franklin Dee Rose, 38, of Bristol, Tennessee, previously pled guilty to one count of conspiring to possess with the intent to distribute methamphetamine. The evidence presented at previous hearings showed that Rose was part of a methamphetamine conspiracy that transported and distributed multiple pounds of crystal methamphetamine between Atlanta, Georgia, Northeast Tennessee, and Southwest Virginia.

According to the United States Attorney John P. Fishwick Jr., the investigation of the case was a collaborative effort between multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Bristol, Virginia Police Department, the Bristol, Tennessee Police Department, the Abingdon Police Department, and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Assistant United States Attorney Zachary T. Lee prosecuted the case for the United States. United States Attorney Fishwick praised the hard work of the investigators and prosecutors who brought the case to a successful conclusion.

“We will continue to work to put an end to conspiracies like this one, and others like it, that bring methamphetamine into our communities and destroy lives,” United States Attorney Fishwick said in a statement.

The sentencing of Franklin Dee Rose is a significant victory for law enforcement and the community. It demonstrates the commitment of the U.S. Attorney’s Office to prioritize the prosecution of individuals who traffick dangerous drugs like methamphetamine and to hold them accountable for their crimes.
