GRIMY TIMES EXCLUSIVE – In a stunning revelation out of Gainesville, FL, 38-year-old Daniel Reginald Hanna, II, has been indicted by federal prosecutors for a triple罪名 of attempted distribution, receipt, and possession of child pornography. The charges were announced by John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.
Hanna’s initial appearance took place before United States Magistrate Judge Midori A. Lowry on September 5th at the United States Courthouse in Gainesville. His trial is set to begin on October 29th at 8:30 am, with Chief Judge Allen C. Winsor presiding.
Should Hanna be convicted on all counts, he faces a daunting sentence of up to 20 years’ imprisonment for each offense. This case is an alarming reminder of the relentless efforts by federal and local law enforcement to combat the escalating crisis of child exploitation online.
The investigation into Hanna’s alleged crimes was led by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations, in partnership with the Gainesville Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Adam Hapner is handling the prosecution.
An indictment, it must be noted, merely signifies an accusation by a grand jury and does not prove guilt. Hanna, like all defendants, is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
