GRIMY NEWS: A grim sentence for a grim crime. In Knoxville, Tennessee, Andrew John Paolini, 64, of Gallatin, was just sentenced to 151 months imprisonment for the heinous crime of Attempted Enticement of a Minor to Engage in Statutory Rape.
Paolini’s dark descent into justice began in October 2024 when FBI agents launched an undercover probe into chat rooms notorious for child sexual abuse. Their investigation led them straight to Paolini, who was charged with one count of Attempted Enticement of a Minor under Tennessee law and federal statute.
The court documents paint a chilling picture: Paolini was communicating with what he thought was a 13-year-old girl online, plotting his sinister intentions. It wasn’t until November 2024 that the feds caught him in the act, as he arrived at a prearranged meeting place to meet his supposed victim.
U.S. Attorney Francis M. Hamilton III and Special Agent in Charge Joseph E. Carrico of the FBI announced the sentence, which is part of the Department of Justice’s Project Safe Childhood initiative—a relentless battle against child sexual exploitation and abuse.
This case, a stark reminder of the dangers lurking online, was investigated by the FBI, led by Special Agent Mike Carter, and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jennifer Kolman. Paolini will now serve his time under harsh conditions, with lifetime supervised release to follow.
