Russell Jeremy Doctor, a 37-year-old resident of Longtown, Oklahoma, has been sentenced to 13 months in prison for illegally possessing a firearm and ammunition. On May 4, 2025, Doctor was found to be in possession of a semi-automatic rifle and eight rounds of ammunition, despite having a prior conviction that prohibited him from owning a gun. The investigation was led by the Choctaw Nation Lighthorse Police, the Pittsburg County Sheriff’s Office, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Doctor pleaded guilty to the charge on October 15, 2025, and was sentenced by the Honorable Ronald A. White, Senior Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. He will self-report to a designated United States Bureau of Prisons facility on August 10, 2026, to serve his non-paroleable sentence.
