Two men, Roberto Angul-Iribe, 55, and Daniel Estrada, 28, both Mexican nationals, are facing federal charges in the Northern District of Oklahoma for possessing a firearm while unlawfully residing in the US. According to court documents, Angul-Iribe was arrested on April 2025, with Estrada nabbed in 2025.
A third defendant, Leonel Cruz Perez, 34, a Mexican national, is also facing federal charges. Cruz Perez is accused of both reentering the US after being previously removed in 2011 and 2015, and possessing a firearm while unlawfully residing in the country.
The charges were brought by the US Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Oklahoma, with the support of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).
Assistant US Attorneys Aaron Jolly, Stephanie Ihler, and Thomas Buscemi are prosecuting the cases.
