A brazen gun dealer in New Mexico thought he’d found an easy score, selling multiple firearms and boxes of ammo to an undercover cop in a sting operation.
Pete Kimbell, 41, of Farmington, allegedly used coded language to pitch his wares to the officer on September 14, 2025, before meeting up the next day to make the sale.
On September 15, 2025, Kimbell hawked his guns and ammo to the undercover cop at a Kirtland residence, where surveillance units were monitoring the scene and the officer wore a wire to record the deal.
The sale went down for $2,100, but Kimbell’s problem is that he’s a convicted felon, and under federal law, he’s not supposed to be handling firearms or ammo.
