Huntington, W.Va. – Mikayla Lanay Johnson, 27, a Huntington resident, was meted out one year and one day in federal prison followed by four years of supervised release today for her role in the distribution of fentanyl and cocaine base, colloquially known as ‘crack.’
Court records and statements reveal that on March 11, 2024, Johnson sold approximately 4 grams of crack and 4.5 grams of fentanyl to an undercover informant. She confessed to arranging and carrying out the transaction at her home in Huntington.
Acting United States Attorney Lisa G. Johnston announced the sentencing, commending the diligent work of both the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Cabell County Sheriff’s Office in the investigation.
The sentence was imposed by United States District Judge Robert C. Chambers, with Assistant United States Attorney Stephanie Taylor handling the prosecution of the case.
