Abusive Sexual Contact by Force and Child Abuse Lands Local Man Behind Bars

A disturbing case of child abuse has come to light in Parmelee, South Dakota, as Ilijah White Lance, a/k/a Iliajh White Lance, age 18, was sentenced for his heinous crimes.

On February 10, 2015, White Lance walked into the bedroom of a child at a friend’s house, where he proceeded to have sexual contact with the young victim. But that was not the extent of his abuse. A second child witnessed the horrific act, and later, White Lance exposed himself to this second victim and even punched the child. The traumatic event left a lasting impact on the young victims.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Agency conducted a thorough investigation into the matter. Assistant U.S. Attorney Timothy M. Maher worked tirelessly to bring justice to the victims, and U.S. District Judge Roberto A. Lange sentenced White Lance to 180 months in custody, followed by 6 years of supervised release, with a $200 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.

White Lance was immediately taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service. The conviction is a harsh reminder of the devastating effects of child abuse and the importance of holding perpetrators accountable for their actions.

The case serves as a stark warning to those who would seek to harm the most vulnerable members of our community. As a society, we must work together to prevent such atrocities from occurring and ensure that those responsible face the full weight of the law.

White Lance’s sentence is a testament to the dedication of law enforcement agencies and prosecutors in their pursuit of justice. The victims of this heinous crime will never forget the trauma inflicted upon them, but with this sentence, they can find some measure of closure and healing.

As we move forward, it is essential that we continue to support victims of child abuse and work to create a safer, more just society for all.
