A 44-year-old Iranian national living in the San Fernando Valley was busted Saturday night for allegedly selling deadly Iranian-made arms to Sudan – including drones, bombs, and millions of rounds of ammo.
Shamim Mafi, a resident of Woodland Hills, reportedly brokered these lethal deals while enjoying life in the United States, courtesy of her legal status granted under the Obama administration.
Her alleged scheme was uncovered just in time, as she was attempting to flee the country, boarding a flight at Los Angeles International Airport.
Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche vowed that ‘this will not stand, and anyone who breaks our laws and threatens national security will be prosecuted to the fullest extent.’
Mafi is expected to appear in court today, facing a federal complaint charging her with conspiracy to violate the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA).
