Jade Wondercheck, 44, Sentenced to 140 Months in Federal Prison for Methamphetamine Trafficking in Nebraska

A Holdrege woman has been sentenced to 140 months in federal prison for her role in a methamphetamine trafficking operation in Nebraska, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Jade Wondercheck, 44, was sentenced on October 27, 2023, in federal court in Lincoln, Nebraska, for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. Senior United States District Judge John M. Gerrard handed down the sentence.

According to court documents, Wondercheck was a passenger in a black Chrysler 300 that was stopped by an Omaha Police Department officer in December 2022. The officer had previously observed the vehicle leaving a residence that was known to be involved in drug trafficking, and had conducted three traffic stops at the residence, resulting in the seizure of a pound of methamphetamine or cocaine each time.

During the stop, the officer observed open beer bottles and smelled marijuana in the vehicle, which led to a probable cause search. Wondercheck was searched and found to be in possession of two baggies of methamphetamine, which were later confirmed to be 91 grams of pure methamphetamine by a lab.

Wondercheck will serve 140 months in prison, followed by a 5-year term of supervised release after her release from prison. This case was investigated by the Omaha Police Department.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office charged Wondercheck with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $100,000 fine.
