Lincoln Man Caught with 22 Grams of Methamphetamine in Walmart Parking Lot.

Robert James Kotschwar, a 33-year-old Lincoln man, has been sentenced to six years in prison for possession with intent to distribute five grams or more of actual (pure) methamphetamine. This conviction is the result of a sting operation conducted by the Lincoln/Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force.

According to the evidence presented in court, Kotschwar was pulled over in a Walmart parking lot after committing traffic violations. He immediately told the officers that he had drugs in his car and a set of brass knuckles on his person.

During a search of his vehicle, investigators found four baggies containing a total of 22 grams of actual (pure) methamphetamine. They also discovered numerous self-seal baggies and a digital scale. Additionally, they found $64 cash on the floor in front of the driver’s seat.

Kotschwar’s passenger was found in possession of a baggie containing approximately two grams of methamphetamine, which the passenger claimed he had just purchased from Kotschwar. Kotschwar admitted to having methamphetamine in his possession and stated that he had just sold methamphetamine to his passenger.

Following his release from prison, Kotschwar will serve four years on supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system. This case highlights the ongoing struggle against methamphetamine trafficking in Lincoln and the surrounding areas.

The Lincoln/Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force is commended for their diligent work in bringing this case to justice. Their efforts will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the community.
