Brajhan Luna-Vazquez, Fentanyl Pill Trafficking, Utah 2024

⏱ 3 min read

A fed-up fentanyl factory has been shut down in Utah County, with authorities seizing a massive haul of 11,000 pills in a sting operation. Brajhan Luna-Vazquez, 24, a Mexican national living illegally in Millcreek, was busted after selling fentanyl to an undercover cop.

The Utah County Major Crimes Task Force launched an investigation in November 2025, tracking a group believed to be peddling fentanyl in the area. On March 18, 2026, detectives stopped a white sedan driven by Luna-Vazquez, who was the sole occupant, and served a search warrant on his apartment and the vehicle. Inside, they found 1,111 grams of fentanyl pills, which field-tested positive for the deadly opioid.

Luna-Vazquez was previously deported on September 5, 2025, but failed to stay out of the country. He now faces charges of possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute and re-entry of a previously removed alien.

His next court appearance is set for June 9, 2026, in U.S. District Court in Salt Lake City. The case is being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Utah, with assistance from ICE.
