A 41-year-old Jamestown felon has pleaded guilty to federal charges of possessing fentanyl and firearms, officials announced today.
Samuel L. Arrington, III, of Jamestown, New York, faces a minimum of five years in prison, a maximum of 40 years, and a $5,000,000 fine after pleading guilty to possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl, and being a felon in possession of firearms.
The charges stem from a search of Arrington’s Jamestown residence on October 12, 2023, by New York State Parole Officers, who recovered 105 grams of cocaine, 68 grams of fentanyl, two firearms, ammunition, five cell phones, $2,301 in cash, and drug paraphernalia.
The fentanyl was found hidden beneath Arrington’s infant child, authorities said. Arrington has two prior convictions for drug felonies, one in Chautauqua County, New York, and another in Erie County, Pennsylvania, making him ineligible to possess firearms.
The case is the result of a joint investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, and the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.
Sentencing is set for October 11, 2024, before U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara. Assistant U.S. Attorney Louis A. Testani is handling the case.
