Jevon Henry, Cocaine Possession with Intent to Distribute, New York 2024

In a major blow to the city’s narcotics trade, Bronx resident Jevon Henry, 43, was sentenced to 96 months in prison for possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute.

According to court documents, Henry admitted to transporting approximately 5.5 kilograms of cocaine from New York City to Syracuse on January 29, 2024. He intended to distribute the illicit substance in the local area.

DEA agents, assisted by the Syracuse Police Department, Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office, and Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office, were able to intercept Henry at a local hotel before he could carry out his plans.

United States District Judge Glenn T. Suddaby also imposed a 4-year term of supervised release, to begin after Henry is released from prison.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica N. Carbone prosecuted the case, which was investigated by the DEA with the assistance of the Syracuse Police Department, Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office, and Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office.

The sentencing marks a significant victory in the fight against narcotics trafficking in the Syracuse area. The U.S. Attorney’s Office has made it clear that it will continue to pursue and prosecute those involved in the distribution of illicit substances.

Jevon Henry’s sentence serves as a warning to others involved in similar activities: the consequences of engaging in narcotics trafficking are severe and punishable by law.
