
A shocking incident occurred at the Shaw-Howard University Metro Station in Washington D.C. earlier this year, leaving a woman traumatized. Justin Q. Taylor, a 23-year-old resident of Washington D.C., has now been held accountable for his actions, pleading guilty to third-degree sexual abuse.
Defendant and Charges: Justin Q. Taylor, 23, of Washington, D.C., has pleaded guilty to third-degree sexual abuse.
Location and Date: The incident took place at the Shaw-Howard University Metro Station in the 1800 block of Seventh Street NW in Washington D.C. on January 28, 2022.
Sentence and Outcome: Taylor pleaded guilty on September 9, 2022, and is set to be sentenced on December 9, 2022, by the Honorable Milton C. Lee, Jr.
Additional Facts: At the time of the offense, Taylor was on probation for a similar offense he committed in December 2018. In that case, he attacked a woman after the two had just gotten off a bus.
Law Enforcement Commendation: U.S. Attorney Matthew M. Graves commended the work of those who handled the case from the Metro Transit Police Department, as well as the efforts of those who worked on the case from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
A Metro Transit Police Officer witnessed Taylor boarding a bus after the assault, allowing authorities to apprehend him and bring him to justice. Taylor ran back up the escalator after the woman fought him off and caught a Metro bus a short distance away.
