Methamphetamine Manufacture Lands Flora Man Behind Bars
In a shocking turn of events, a Clay County man has been charged with methamphetamine manufacture, leaving residents questioning the safety of their community.
Defendant and Charges
Kevin L. Brown, 44, of Flora, Illinois, has been indicted on one count of conspiring and agreeing with others to knowingly and intentionally manufacture more than 50 grams of methamphetamine.
Criminal Charges and Sentence
Brown faces up to 40 years in federal prison, a fine of up to $2,000,000, and supervised release of at least 4 years. According to the indictment, Brown’s crimes date back to May 2012, until on or about November 10, 2014, in Clay County.
Investigation Details
The investigation was conducted by the Flora Police Department, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, and the Southeastern Illinois Drug Task Force.

The case is being handled by Assistant United States Attorney George Norwood.
