A California man is headed to the slammer for his role in flooding Nebraska with methamphetamine. Jason Arias, 42, of Canyon Country, California, was sentenced to 63 months in federal prison for conspiring to distribute the deadly drug.
Arias was busted by the Lincoln/Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force after they intercepted a package containing half a pound of methamphetamine mailed from California to Ulysses, Nebraska, on May 13, 2022.
Through their investigation, the Task Force discovered Arias was working with Trevor Sands, who was shipping packages of methamphetamine from California to Nebraska. Between May and September 2022, investigators intercepted three more packages, totaling over three pounds of methamphetamine.
Arias and Sands were caught on post office surveillance video mailing the packages from California. The Nebraska State Patrol Crime Lab confirmed the presence of methamphetamine in each package.
Arias was interviewed and admitted to his role in the conspiracy, admitting to helping mail packages of methamphetamine to Nebraska. Arias will begin a 5-year term of supervised release after his prison sentence.
