Fort Wayne Woman Pleads Guilty to Methamphetamine Storage

Lizbeth Correa, a 35-year-old woman from Wawaka, Indiana, has pleaded guilty to a felony charge of profiting from managing and controlling a building for the purpose of storing and distributing methamphetamine.

According to court records, Correa’s guilty plea was entered before Magistrate Judge Roger Cosbey, who has recommended that the district court accept the tendered guilty plea. Parties have 10 days to object to the magistrate judge’s recommendation.

The investigation into Correa’s activities was a multi-agency effort involving the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the IMAGE Task Force, the Noble County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, the Indiana State Police, the Ligonier Police Department, and the Fort Wayne Police Department.

Correa’s case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Anthony Geller. If convicted, any specific sentence to be imposed will be determined by the judge after a consideration of federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.

Correa’s guilty plea is a significant blow to the local methamphetamine trade, and it highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to disrupt and dismantle the networks involved in the distribution of illicit substances.
