Torano Spencer, Cocaine Distribution, New York 2010

BUFFALO, N.Y.–A Lockport man has been sentenced to three years probation with three months electronic monitoring after being convicted of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, and to distribute, cocaine and cocaine base.

Torano Spencer, 37, was found guilty of distributing cocaine and cocaine base in the Lockport area between June 2009 and August 2010. The cocaine was supplied to him by co-defendant Eric Williams.

Spencer is one of the 22 defendants convicted as a result of this drug investigation, which was led by the Drug Enforcement Administration under the direction of Special Agent in Charge Brian R. Crowell, New York Field Division.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Mary Catherine Baumgarten, who handled the case, stated that Spencer’s conviction is a significant blow to the local drug trade.

The investigation, which also involved the Niagara County Drug Task Force under the direction of Sheriff James Votour, revealed a sophisticated network of drug dealers operating in the Lockport area.

Spencer’s sentence reflects the serious nature of his crimes, and the impact that his actions had on the community.
