A brazen drive-by shooter in Longview, Texas, is going down for 10 years behind bars. Jamichael Devorea O’Quinn, 21, pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of a machine gun in federal court on May 1, 2026.
The crime went down on May 18, 2024, when O’Quinn unleashed a hail of gunfire on a high school graduation party, leaving victims in his wake. Witnesses identified him as one of the shooters, and further investigation revealed his boasts on social media about a distinctive blue machine gun conversion device.
O’Quinn’s Glock Switch was seized during a traffic stop on July 26, 2024, and ballistic testing confirmed it was the same gun used in the shooting. He’s been indicted in Gregg County on murder charges in an unrelated drive-by shooting.
O’Quinn’s sentencing is set to take place after a presentence investigation by the U.S. Probation Office. The maximum statutory sentence is 10 years, but the actual sentence will depend on the advisory sentencing guidelines and other statutory factors.
