Mandeville Mail Thief Sentenced
A former Mandeville postal worker has been sentenced for stealing credit cards from the mail. Johnny Baham, 53, of Mandeville, was handed a three-year probation term, ordered to pay $150 in restitution, and fined $250.
According to U.S. Attorney Kenneth A. Polite, Baham was employed as a contract letter carrier in Mandeville. In December 2014, Baham stole first class mail containing two $75 Master Card gift cards from his mail route.
U.S. District Judge Eldon E. Fallon handed down the sentence after Baham pleaded guilty to stealing the United States mail.
The case was investigated by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Office of Inspector General. Fraud Unit Chief, Assistant U.S. Attorney Brian M. Klebba, led the prosecution.
