⏱ 2 min read

Larry L. Radcliffe, a 41-year-old Illinois man, was caught transporting over 4 kilograms of methamphetamine through Kansas City’s Union Station on September 30, 2024. Radcliffe, who was traveling from Los Angeles to Chicago, was busted by the Missouri Western Interdiction and Narcotics Task Force (MoWIN) after he aroused suspicion with his nervous behavior. When questioned by detectives, Radcliffe claimed he didn’t have identification and became agitated, leading to a search of his luggage, where the meth was found.

Radcliffe pleaded guilty to one count of possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute it and one count of possessing a firearm in furtherance of his drug trafficking offense on February 3, 2026. He was sentenced to 156 months in federal prison without parole by U.S. District Judge Beth Phillips on June 16, 2026.

The meth, which weighed approximately 4.33 kilograms, was found in 10 bundles wrapped in clear cellophane inside Radcliffe’s luggage. A forensic drug testing laboratory later confirmed the substance as pure methamphetamine. Radcliffe’s sentence reflects the severity of his crimes and the danger his actions posed to the community.

The MoWIN task force played a crucial role in taking Radcliffe off the streets and disrupting the flow of meth into the region. The task force’s efforts demonstrate the importance of law enforcement collaboration and proactive policing in combating drug trafficking.
