Methamphetamine Trafficking Ring Busted in Wyoming
A federal judge in Wyoming has handed down significant prison sentences to several individuals involved in a methamphetamine trafficking ring.
Sheila Kay Fundenberger, 44, of Gillette, was sentenced to 60 months of imprisonment and four years of supervised release for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. She was also ordered to pay a $100.00 special assessment and $400.00 in restitution.
Fundenberger was arrested in Gillette, Wyoming, in an investigation led by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
In another case, Daniel Thomas Poynor, 37, of Cheyenne, received a 300-month prison sentence, followed by ten years of supervised release, for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, carrying a firearm during and in relation to a drug trafficking crime, and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. Poynor was ordered to pay a $300.00 special assessment.
Poynor was arrested in Cheyenne, Wyoming, in an investigation led by the Cheyenne Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
David Netterfield, 27, of Cheyenne, was sentenced to three years of supervised release and ordered to pay a $100.00 special assessment and $59,000.00 in restitution for bank theft. Netterfield was arrested in Cheyenne, Wyoming, in an investigation led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Lastly, Michael Shane-Lourcey Clements, 25, of Casper, received a 60-month prison sentence, followed by five years of supervised release, for possession of child pornography. Clements was ordered to pay a $100.00 special assessment and $15,000.00 in restitution. He was arrested in Casper, Wyoming, in an investigation led by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
The sentencing of these individuals marks a significant blow to the methamphetamine trafficking ring in Wyoming, and law enforcement agencies are praising the efforts of those involved in the investigations.
The cases highlight the importance of collaboration between local and federal agencies in combating crime and bringing perpetrators to justice.
