⏱ 2 min read

A Mexican national with a history of violence and drug trafficking was caught with a gun and 300 grams of meth in Rabun County, Georgia, authorities say. Jorge Martinez-Arellano, also known as Jorge DeLeon Garcia, allegedly resumed his illicit activities despite being deported multiple times.

The 34-year-old was stopped by Rabun County deputies during a traffic stop, where they found the firearm and large stash of methamphetamine in his vehicle.

Martinez-Arellano’s arrest was the result of a strong partnership between federal and local law enforcement agencies, including Homeland Security Investigations, ATF, and the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office.

The defendant is facing federal charges and could face a possible life sentence if convicted. His alleged conduct posed a significant threat to public safety, and authorities say he demonstrated utter contempt for the law.
