A notorious Atlanta meth kingpin is going down for 20 years. Monica Dominguez Torres, the ringleader of a multi-million dollar transnational crime operation, laundered millions of dollars in meth proceeds to Mexico and operated clandestine labs in the Atlanta area.
At the height of her operation, Dominguez Torres lived a lavish lifestyle, but her empire has been dismantled thanks to the tireless work of the Homeland Security Task Force.
“We followed the money, and it led us straight to the heart of this criminal operation,” said Steven N. Schrank, Special Agent in Charge of Homeland Security Investigations in Georgia and Alabama.
The operation, which involved methamphetamine conversion laboratories, posed a significant threat to local communities, putting the public at risk through toxic chemicals, fire hazards, and ties to transnational networks.
The sentencing of Dominguez Torres serves as a stark reminder that those who engage in this level of criminal activity will face severe consequences.
