Sheree Michelle Alexander, a 50-year-old Summerville woman, has been sentenced to 46 months in federal prison for straw purchasing at least 11 firearms for her son, Jaidan Latrell Alexander, a convicted felon. Between January 2020 and September 2023, Alexander bought guns for her son, despite knowing he was prohibited from possessing them due to a prior felony conviction. The firearms were later recovered by law enforcement from Jaidan Alexander’s possession, with one also found with another prohibited person associated with him.
Court records show that Alexander was aware of her son’s violent conduct and drug distribution, with social media messages and recorded jail calls revealing her knowledge of his activities. In April 2023, Jaidan Alexander was involved in a shooting outside his apartment complex, and law enforcement later recovered firearms purchased by his mother, along with drugs and cash.
ATF agents arrested Sheree and Jaidan Alexander in August 2024, finding a stolen pistol and a loaded rifle in Sheree’s bedroom. Jaidan Alexander was previously sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for his role in the offense. Sheree Alexander pleaded guilty to making a false statement on a firearm purchase form and was sentenced to 46 months in federal prison, followed by two years of supervision.
