A Columbus man has admitted to a firearms charge after a probe by federal authorities.
Quintae L. Stubbs, 31, pleaded guilty today to one count of ‘Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.’
According to the U.S. Attorney’s office, Stubbs was prohibited from having firearms due to prior convictions, but was found to be in possession of a 9mm pistol in July 2022 in Ohio County, West Virginia.
Stubbs faces up to 15 years of incarceration and a fine of up to $250,000. The actual sentence will be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history of the defendant, under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Clayton J. Reid is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Wheeling Police Department investigated the case.
The case was presided over by U.S. Magistrate Judge James P. Mazzone.
Stubbs, a resident of Columbus, Ohio, will be sentenced at a later date.
