Honduran National Pleads Guilty to Illegal Re-Entry
NEW ORLEANS – A Honduran national has pleaded guilty to re-entering the United States after being previously deported.
RAUL CABRERA-PERDOMO, age 47, pleaded guilty on August 18, 2022, after being charged in a one-count indictment with illegal reentry of a removed alien in violation of Title 8, United States Code, Section 1326(a) in 2021.
According to papers signed in open court, CABRERA admitted to reentering the United States after he was previously deported on May 15, 2009.
CABRERA faces a maximum term of imprisonment of two years, a maximum fine of $250,000, a maximum term of supervised release of one year, and a mandatory $100 special assessment fee as well as being deported again.
U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans praised the work of the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement in investigating this matter.
Assistant U. S. Attorney Carter K. D. Guice, Jr. is in charge of the prosecution.
Sentencing is set for November 10, 2022.
