Jackson Woman Pleads Guilty to Stolen Identity Refund Fraud
A Jackson woman has admitted to conspiring to defraud the government by using stolen personal identifying information to file false tax returns.
The crime, committed by S’ade Tyler, was uncovered by the U.S. Secret Service and Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation. The agencies, along with the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office, the Mississippi Department of Corrections, and the Mississippi Department of Revenue, assisted in the investigation.
Tyler and her co-conspirators used personal identifying information, including names and social security numbers, stolen from the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility in Rankin County and other locations.
