BAY CITY — Keino Hughes, the 42-year-old drug dealer from Saginaw, was sentenced on August 14, 2025, to a staggering 151 months in federal prison for his possession with intent to distribute cocaine. This announcement came from U.S. Attorney Jerome F. Gorgon, Jr., who was joined by James Deir, Special Agent in Charge of the Detroit Field Office of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF).
Hughes’s sentence was imposed by U.S. District Court Judge Thomas L. Ludington following his guilty plea on charges of possession with intent to distribute cocaine. The evidence against Hughes was substantial, with court documents detailing a July 2024 raid at his Saginaw residence.
On that fateful day, the Bay Area Narcotics Enforcement Team (BAYANET), which included ATF Special Agents, executed a search warrant. Inside, they found quantities of cocaine and cocaine base, two firearms, digital scales, and an impressive $17,000 in cash. The raid was the culmination of a joint investigation by the ATF and the Michigan State Police Bay Area Narcotics Enforcement Team.
Assistant United States Attorney William Orr prosecuted the case against Hughes. This sentence sends a clear message that dealing drugs is no game. Hughes’s sentence reflects the severity of his crimes and the community’s commitment to fighting drug trafficking in Saginaw and beyond.
Hughes’s fate serves as a stark reminder of the consequences for those who engage in illegal drug activities. His lengthy prison term will not only affect him but also serve as a deterrent to others considering similar criminal paths.
