Two minors, aged 15 and 16, were transported to an Omaha hotel by Alfredo Manuel Zambrano-Hurtado to be sold for commercial sex. The victims were advertised online by Michel Daiana Martinez-Gonzalez and Eduardo Jose Perdomo, who arranged commercial sex acts with buyers. The sex trafficking operation was uncovered by the Omaha Police Department on January 6, 2025, after a report of a theft led to the discovery of indicia of sex trafficking.
Martinez-Gonzalez, 29, of Colombia, and Zambrano-Hurtado, 26, of Venezuela, were sentenced on July 6, 2026, in federal court in Omaha, Nebraska. Martinez-Gonzalez received 210 months’ imprisonment for two counts of sex trafficking of a minor by force, while Zambrano-Hurtado was sentenced to 180 months’ imprisonment for two counts of sex trafficking of a minor.
Both defendants will serve their sentences without parole and will begin a 5-year term of supervised release after their release from prison. They were also ordered to pay special assessments of $10,000 under the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act. The investigation was conducted by the Omaha Police Department-Homeland Security Investigations Human Trafficking Task Force.
The case highlights the ongoing issue of sex trafficking in the United States, with perpetrators often using online platforms to advertise and exploit their victims. The sentences handed down to Martinez-Gonzalez and Zambrano-Hurtado demonstrate the severity with which law enforcement and the courts are addressing this crime.
