A federal judge has handed down a 151-month prison sentence to Shakur Jones, a 25-year-old Detroit man, for his role in a major methamphetamine trafficking conspiracy in Monongalia County, West Virginia.
According to court documents, Jones was the primary supplier of methamphetamine, cocaine base, and fentanyl for the conspiracy, which was uncovered by the Mon Metro Drug Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
Law enforcement officials discovered over a kilogram of methamphetamine at a residence in Morgantown, and a photograph of 10 pounds of prepackaged methamphetamine was found on Jones’s phone.
Three other defendants, Nolan Eickleberry, John Thomas, and Dorian Myles, have also admitted to their roles in the conspiracy. Eickleberry was sentenced to 87 months in prison in August 2024, while Thomas and Myles are awaiting sentencing.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Zelda Wesley is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government.
Chief U.S. District Court Judge Thomas S. Kleeh presided over the sentencing hearing, handing down the maximum sentence for Jones’s crimes.
