A 27-year-old Tallahassee man has been slapped with 46 counts of tax fraud after allegedly submitting false federal tax forms to the government.
According to investigators, Jonquaris Richardson submitted fake tax returns claiming thousands of dollars in refunds, bilking the system out of a small fortune.
The Internal Revenue Service-Criminal Investigations (IRS-CI) launched an investigation into Richardson’s activities, uncovering a web of deceit that spanned years.
Richardson made his initial appearance in federal court last week, where he was arraigned on the charges. He’s scheduled to face trial in June, where he faces up to five years’ imprisonment on each count.
