Las Vegas – Marlo Alejandro Valdovinos-Guerra, a 32-year-old Mexican national, has been charged with illegal reentry into the United States, marking his sixth attempt after being deported five times. The charges come as a stark reminder of the ongoing immigration crisis.

Valdovinos-Guerra’s initial court appearance took place today, where he faced one-count of deported alien found in the United States. A jury trial is set for September 8, 2025, before Judge Cristina D. Silva. His criminal history includes prior deportations on December 15, 2012, March 7, 2019, April 22, 2019, March 25, 2021, and December 2, 2024.

In a disturbing turn of events, Valdovinos-Guerra was convicted in 2024 for inflict corporal injury on spouse, cohabitant, resulting in a two-year custody sentence. In 2025, he pleaded guilty to attempt malicious destruction of property by discharging a firearm at a nightclub.

Should he be convicted, Valdovinos-Guerra faces the maximum penalty of 20 years in prison, a three-year supervised release term, a $250,000 fine, and a $100 special assessment. United States Attorney Sigal Chattah for the District of Nevada and Salt Lake City Field Office Director Jason Knight announced the charges.

The ICE Salt Lake City, Las Vegas Sub-Office investigated the case, with the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Nevada leading the prosecution.
