Ty Wildt, Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine, Iowa 2019

WEBSTER CITY, IA – A grim milestone in the fight against drug crime was reached when Ty Wildt, 30, of Webster City, Iowa, was sentenced to over eleven years in federal prison for his role in a methamphetamine conspiracy. Wildt’s sentence, handed down on June 10, 2019, came after he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine on January 8, 2019.

Wildt had already been convicted of two felony drug offenses in Iowa before his latest conviction. According to evidence presented at the plea hearing and sentencing, Wildt was deeply involved in a conspiracy that spanned from April 2018 to September 2018. During this time, he distributed more than 150 grams of pure methamphetamine. On three separate occasions in August 2018, Wildt sold over 24 grams of the drug to individuals who were assisting law enforcement.

The sentence, which totals 141 months’ imprisonment, was imposed by United States District Court Judge C.J. Williams in Sioux City. Following his release from prison, Wildt will be required to serve a five-year term of supervised release. There is no possibility of parole in the federal system, and he remains in custody with the United States Marshal’s Service until transportation to a federal correctional facility can be arranged.

The case against Wildt was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Shawn S. Wehde and investigated by a coalition that included the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, Wright County Sheriff’s Office, Webster City Police Department, and Iowa Division of Criminalistics Investigation.
