Covington Man Sold Over 250 Grams of Heroin, Jailed for 10 Years
COVINGTON, Ky. – A Cincinnati man, Willie A. Robinson, 50, has been sentenced to 120 months in federal prison for distributing over 500 grams of heroin in Covington, Kentucky.
A federal judge handed down the sentence on an individual who has a lengthy criminal history. In July 2014, Robinson admitted to selling over 250 grams of heroin on three occasions, and also possessed over 300 grams of heroin, which he intended to sell when arrested on September 2, 2014.
As per federal law, Robinson must serve at least 85 percent of his prison sentence. He will be on supervised release for 10 years following his prison term.
Robinson’s guilty plea was entered on February 24, 2015, in relation to the indictment on December 11, 2014. His prior convictions include felony marijuana trafficking in 2002 and federal fraud offenses in 2007.
The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Northern Kentucky Drug Strike Force. Assistant U.S. Attorney Tony Bracke prosecuted the case on behalf of the federal government.
Kerry B. Harvey, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky, and Joseph P. Reagan, Special Agent in Charge, Detroit Field Division, DEA, jointly made the announcement today.
Robinson’s case highlights the ongoing efforts to combat heroin distribution and the severe consequences for those involved in such crimes.
