Hector Torres, Cocaine Distribution Conspiracy, Massachusetts 2025

BOSTON – In a gritty federal court in Worcester, Massachusetts, the grim reality of drug trafficking was brought to light as Hector Torres, 33, faced justice for his role in a massive cocaine distribution conspiracy.

Torres, once the kingpin of a local drug ring, was sentenced yesterday by U.S. District Court Judge Margaret R. Guzman to seven years in prison followed by five years of supervised release. The sentence came after Torres pleaded guilty in May 2025 to one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine, as well as one count of possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine. He was indicted by a federal grand jury in November 2023.

The crime spree began unraveling in June 2022 when law enforcement intercepted a package containing approximately 6.5 kilograms of cocaine sent from Puerto Rico to Worcester. Torres’s involvement came to light on June 21, 2022, when he attempted to accept the delivery but fled upon realizing law enforcement was closing in. After a foot chase, Torres was apprehended.

Today’s announcement was made by United States Attorney Leah B. Foley; Michael J. Krol, Special Agent in Charge for Homeland Security Investigations in New England; Colonel Geoffrey D. Noble of the Massachusetts State Police; and Worcester Police Chief Paul B. Saucier. The Drug Enforcement Administration, New England Field Division provided valuable assistance in the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kaitlin J. Brown of the Worcester Branch Office prosecuted the case with relentless determination.

As Torres’s sentence is meted out, the community of Worcester breathes a collective sigh of relief, knowing that one of its most notorious drug dealers has been brought to justice.
