Batesland Man Jailed for Child Sex Abuse

A 62-year-old man from Batesland, South Dakota, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for engaging in sexual contact with a child who had not yet turned 12 years old. George American Horse was sentenced on January 23, 2014, by Chief Judge Jeffrey L. Viken, U.S. District Court.

The charges against American Horse, which included two counts of Abusive Sexual Contact, relate to incidents that occurred between 2009 and 2012 near Batesland. American Horse pleaded guilty to the charges on September 26, 2013.
